I finally got to see the Osees (aka Oh Sees, Thee Oh Sees, OCS, The Oh Sees, etc) live and photograph them in Sydney last weekend, at the Metro. Why did I wait so long?! 🤔😵‍💫 They played a loud, lengthy, non stop set (it felt like they'd play all night if you let 'em), though that's not to say that the pace and feel didn't vary; the Osees are a band that can't be easily pigeonholed. Formed in 1988, in Wellington, New Zealand, Shihad have decided to call it a day. The first time I can remember seeing them was when they played as one of the supports to Fear Factory at Selina's in Sydney, in 1993. I was a big fan of their debut album, Churn, which was released that same year. Bittersweet is the best way I can describe taking in and photographing one of their final shows recently, at the Roundhouse in Sydney.
